Acupuncture for Fatigue & Low Energy
Everyone feels tired from time to time, but there is a difference between being tired after a demanding week and feeling as though you simply don't have your usual energy.
What I Commonly Work With
- Persistent fatigue
- Low energy
- Feeling physically or mentally run down
- Reduced stamina
- Difficulty recovering after periods of stress or exertion
- Fatigue associated with poor sleep
- Fatigue associated with digestive difficulties
- Fatigue occurring alongside hormonal changes
- Difficulty concentrating or feeling mentally “foggy”
Understanding Your Individual Symptoms
Fatigue is not the same for everyone.
Looking at the Broader Picture
Fatigue can occur alongside many other concerns, poor sleep, stress or anxiety, low mood, digestive problems, headaches or hormonal changes.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine Perspective
Traditional Chinese Medicine considers energy and vitality in relation to the body's broader patterns and functions.
What Might Treatment Involve?
Acupuncture is the foundation of my treatment. Depending on your individual presentation, I may draw from different acupuncture approaches and complementary therapies.
How Many Treatments Might I Need?
There is no standard number of treatments. Your treatment plan depends on the nature and duration of your fatigue and how you respond to care.
When Should Persistent Fatigue Be Medically Evaluated?
Medical evaluation is particularly important if your fatigue is new, severe or progressively worsening, has no obvious explanation, is significantly affecting your ability to function, occurs together with unexplained weight loss or persistent fever, or is accompanied by shortness of breath, chest pain or fainting. Acupuncture should complement, not replace, appropriate medical evaluation and care.
Could Acupuncture Be Appropriate for You?
If persistent fatigue or low energy is affecting your concentration, productivity or everyday life, acupuncture may be worth exploring as part of your overall approach to care. You're also welcome to contact Richard directly.
