Understanding Your Individual Symptoms

Women's health symptoms can vary considerably from one person to another.

Looking at the Broader Picture

Menstrual and hormonal symptoms don't always occur on their own, you may also experience headaches, digestive changes, poor sleep, fatigue, stress or muscle tension.

The Traditional Chinese Medicine Perspective

Traditional Chinese Medicine has a long history of considering women's health through the relationship between the menstrual cycle, hormonal changes and the body's broader patterns.

What Might Treatment Involve?

Acupuncture is the foundation of my treatment. Depending on your individual presentation, I may draw from different acupuncture approaches and complementary therapies.

How Many Treatments Might I Need?

There is no standard number of treatments. Your treatment plan depends on the nature and duration of your symptoms and how you respond to care.

When Should Women's Health Symptoms Be Medically Evaluated?

Medical evaluation is particularly important if you experience very heavy or unusually prolonged menstrual bleeding, severe or suddenly worsening pelvic pain, bleeding between periods or after menopause, or unexplained weight loss or other significant systemic symptoms. If you are pregnant, trying to conceive, undergoing fertility treatment, or receiving medical treatment for a gynecological or hormonal condition, please let me know during your consultation. Acupuncture should complement, not replace, appropriate medical evaluation and care.

Could Acupuncture Be Appropriate for You?

If menstrual or hormonal symptoms are affecting your comfort, sleep, energy, mood or everyday life, acupuncture may be worth exploring as part of your overall approach to care. You're also welcome to contact Richard directly.
