Benefits

Stationary cupping and moving cupping therapy are traditional Chinese medicine techniques used to alleviate a variety of conditions. Stationary cupping involves placing cups on specific points on the skin to create suction, which helps to relieve muscle tension, promote blood flow, and reduce inflammation. This method is particularly effective for treating conditions such as chronic pain, respiratory issues, and stress-related disorders. Moving cupping, on the other hand, involves sliding the suctioned cups across the skin to provide a deep tissue massage. This technique enhances circulation, loosens muscles, and can significantly reduce pain and stiffness. Both therapies are known for their ability to detoxify the body, improve overall energy flow, and support the body's natural healing processes.

Cupping therapy is believed to offer a range of healing benefits, including:

Cupping can help alleviate muscle tension, reduce pain, and promote
relaxation by increasing blood flow to the affected area.

Improved Circulation

The suction created by cupping can stimulate blood flow and lymphatic drainage, helping to remove toxins and promote healing.

Reduced Inflammation

Cupping may help reduce inflammation and swelling, making it beneficial for conditions such as arthritis and sports injuries.

Stress Reduction

Detoxification

Cupping is believed to help detoxify the body by stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting the elimination of waste and toxins.

When you come for an acupuncture treatment, a complimentary cupping session is included at no additional charge. The only exception is if the patient has a medicalcondition that contraindicates cupping.

But if you are interested in just cupping, I also offer a comprehensive cupping treatment that combines both moving and stationary cupping techniques. This 30-minute session begins with moving cupping to gently massage and warm up the muscles of the neck, upper back, lower back, and legs. Following this, stationary cupping is applied to specific points to enhance circulation, relieve deep muscle tension, and reduce inflammation. This holistic approach not only alleviates pain and stiffness but also
promotes overall relaxation and supports the body's natural healing
processes.

There is no bloodletting involved in our cupping treatments, making it a very safe and sanitary healing modality. While the procedure is generally comfortable, you may notice some bruising on the skin after the treatment. These marks are normal and typically dissipate and disappear within a week.

Historical Use of Cupping

Cupping therapy has a long history dating back thousands of years. It has been practiced in various cultures, including ancient Egypt, China, Greece, and the Middle East. In traditional Chinese medicine, cupping is often used to balance the flow of qi (vital energy) in the body and treat a wide range of conditions, including pain, respiratory issues, digestive disorders, and more. Similarly, in Middle Eastern medicine, cupping has been used to treat ailments such as fever, colds, and musculoskeletal pain.
